"Veteran singer Datin Orchid Abdullah, 64, passed away at the Ampang Hospital near here around 12.40pm Friday.
According to her daughter, Nur Shafinaz Mokhtar, 31, through her Twitter account, the body will be brought to the As Sobirin Mosque, AU1, Keramat, Kuala Lumpur to be prayed.
The late singer's body is scheduled to be buried at the Keramat AU1 Muslim Cemetery after Asar prayer. "Pray for her (Orchid) to be blessed by Allah and placed among the religious people," she said in that Twitter.
The singer who was popular with the song Penawar Rindu suffered unstable hormone tumor or paraganglioma since three years ago.
She was brought to the hospital at 3am, Thursday.
After arriving at the hospital, the late Datin Orchid who was earlier warded in the ordinary ward later transferred to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for further examinations.
Besides Shafinaz, she also left behind three other children namely Nur Shalina, 42, Md. Nor Shareen, 39, and Mohd. Noor Shafri Mokhtar, 35.
